* BI pros see dashboard
* Optimization (OR) sees policy
* Data scientists see ML algorithms
* Decisioning in marketing martech sees NBA
* Data engineers see ETL, pipeline, reports and dashboard
…and so on…
💡These are all a proxy to a decision. They are how we implement decisions and how they decide NOT what a decision is.
You see the common misconception in these patters?
They confuse their own expertise that is a form of a “decision logic” as a decision.
A business decision is an enterprise entity on its own. It's a self-existence concept and asset. It is ❌NOT the data, process, algorithm, policy, dashboard, rule… and so on.
✨A decision is a commitment to a course of actions.
